What can I expect to learn in my private lessons?

Our dance instructors will take you through stress-free, carefully planned lessons to make your first dance feel effortless and natural. We will help to make this dance one that will be remembered by your guests, and most importantly, by the two of you. This is a great option for someone who has an ever changing schedule or just doesn't have the time to take group classes and needs flexible lesson times. All lessons are scheduled on an individual basis around your busy life.

What are the benefits for having a lesson for my guest at the reception?

After a lesson, your guests will feel very comfortable and confident sharing in your dancing fun! Everyone will have a night to remember after a 30-60 minute fun and easy lesson.

Can another couple or my whole wedding party take private lessons with my fiancé and I?

Yes, definitely! Whether it's your maid of honor and best man, or you parents, involving others in the dancing fun is a great way to get everyone more excited and prepared for the big day.

Do I have to choose my song before I begin the lessons?

If you have not yet chosen a song, you may want to consider what type of dance you would like to do and work backwards from there. Would you want the classic romance of a waltz, or would you prefer a relaxed and jazzy foxtrot? Maybe the exuberant energy of a swing dance or the intensity of an Argentine Tango is more your style. But most importantly, choose a song that you will love and cherish.

I'd like to surprise my fiancé for our first dance, can I take lessons to prepare for it?

This is a wonderfully sweet idea. Since the dances we teach are lead and follow, it will only work for the husband to learn the dance to surprise his future wife, since he can lead her through the dancing motions.

How will my first dance begin and end?

As the wedding couple, you must decide before the ceremony which part of this traditional order you would like to follow, if any. This is only a guide and it is your choice who to involve in the dancing. It is important to notify the individuals that you want to participate, and instruct them as to when they should join the dance, and with whom they should dance.

Your bandleader or DJ can call you out to the dance floor and announce your first dance.Traditionally, the father of the bride will eventually cut in and dance with his daughter. This may be done to a new song or during the original song.

At this point the groom may ask the bride's mother to dance. Then the groom's father may dance with the bride, at which time the bride's father may cut in on his wife and the groom. The groom may then ask his mother to dance. Additionally the groom may dance with the maid of honor and the bride with the best man, while the in-laws dance with each other. Finally, the entire wedding party, and then the guests may join in the dancing.

Your first dance should be one of the many beautiful memories of your wedding day. By preparing in advance you will be able to relax and have fun with each other, enjoying your moment.
